My Quest - Continuing Story
Previously: “I knew from twenty plus years in the army; death and danger do not have to come with special trappings. I knew that death and danger might come on a beautiful sunny afternoon in one of Baghdad’s marketplaces. A draft of fresh air touched my neck. The empty bunker was eerie. This place was damn sure not a rose garden. Stopping for a pause I spied light switches on the wall to my left, I wondered how I missed them yesterday as flipped on the switches. Nothing happened at first and then the ceiling lighting seemed very bright in the shadows. The gloom was gone, the lights worked where people once had walked years ago. I felt a tingle of relief. I had to admit I was not a seeker but I knew it was essential to survive in this new world.”
My Quest:
In the semidarkness the overhead lighting, four bulbs were still burning in a broken fixture. I observed raw ends of telephone wires lying on the top of a former reception’s desk. Pausing I leaned on the receptionist’s desk and tried to decide what to do next. I spied in the corner a very old McDonald hamburger container. I looked down the long corridor of the gloomy bunker. Surprising there was a whirring sound, and then lights flickered, then came back on. In front of me was something bulky at the far end. Without any explanation my mind began playing tricks on itself and my thoughts went wild. The place was eerie as a old tomb, there was doubt about it in my mind. In spite of the dust and frightening feeling I was determined to keep on going with my hunt. Originally I was going to search for food, water and clothes. Since hearing the chilling screams that awoke me I unquestionable decided to add weapons to my list. With shudder I immediately thought of the demonic screams I heard. My pace quicken. My surrounding were almost dungeon like but I continue since I knew my surviving depended what I could find in the next few days. I had to keep the faith. I knew that soon I might be in the fight of my life. Me, I’d be happy never to feel this way ever again. Yes I was scare. I heard dripping water some where my heart reverberated like a clanging bell. Dirty water stood ahead in the center of the corridor floor I then cleared my throat and stepped from one of the narrow puddle to the other as I kept on going. I listened and then nodded to myself, confirming to myself the bunker was empty and appeared it had been empty for generations. Had I been somehow transported into the future from my time I asked myself? Was my past dead and was this the future? I could only mull over my questions. Turning my head I immediately saw out of the corner of my eye a of once brightly polished brass plate attached to the wall. The brass plate was old and faded yet I made out the words, “United States Air Force!” Reading further the plate read the words, ‘2012.’ The rest of the plate was unreadable since time had faded out the words. In my world the year is or was 2009. My question been answered yet leaving much mystery to my puzzle. Just where was I?

This place was damn sure not a rose garden
During the moon lit night I awoke from my uneasy sleep to hear an animal scratching at the nearest porthole window, and then followed by a howl in frustration. With a shrug I immediately return to my sleep since I knew that whoever or whatever it was they couldn’t reach me – they couldn’t reach me no matter what, given that my bunker was secure from intruders – man or unworldly creature. However, I shuddered at the very thought what or who was trying get inside to where I slept. I then realized they couldn’t get in and I couldn’t get out. That was my predicament! Later I heard in the pitch black night I heard a chilling scream that seemed to seek vengeance. I lay awake and listened to the almost demonic screams. Later, I awoke a second time during that first night with shooting stomach pains, I was incredibly famished. Listening I become aware that the humming sound of machinery had stopped and I had stopped coughing and wheezing because air now was fresher. I thought to myself as soon as the morning’s daylight shines through the windows I will look in earnest for food and clothes. Then settling my body against the concrete wall of the ancient bunker, feeling my muscles seemed to melt. After a few hours of well deserved rest I awoke worried and stiff with a chill. I kept his jaw clenched, my teeth began clicking. Setting there for a moment to get my bearings I looked at my surroundings. Stretching I got up, anxious with the feeling in my stomach that I had wasted time that might against me, and then set off in my exploration once again. Whatever had the place had been I asked myself; my only answer was at one time in the past the bunker was a former maximum security unit. My bare feet echoed on corridor floor. I was uneasy. I wanted to go outside – with a shrug I realized so far the place was disappointing. I knew from twenty plus years in the army; death and danger do not have to come with special trappings. Who was that catwoman? Who is she?
Catching my breath after watching the catwoman scamper away I continued my search of my new home “the bunker.” The place appeared and smelled as if it hadn’t been used in many years; the stale and mildew filled my lungs causing me to cough and wheeze every step or two. Walking on the cold concrete floor made my bare feet numb from its coldness… I was miserable. Hunger pains suddenly hit my stomach in waves – my search turned to rummaging around for food but you guess it. None was found. Investigating the areas where I could see from the lighting shining through the portholes nothing was found for me to live to tell this tale. In the darkened corridors just beyond where I stood I decided not to explore since they were a maze of pitch blackness. The bunker was locked down to keep out the scavengers and secured from outside trespassers. With a spine-tingling jolt unexpected I heard the humming sound of machinery coming to life in one of the dark corridors. I wasn’t sure what the machinery or machines meant; I could only hope for the best. But for now it didn’t help my situation. Unexpectedly the day light shining through the porthole windows began to dim as the sun sat. Once again unexpectedly I heard a tapping on one of windows… walking slowing to the tapping noise and I gazed out. There in the window materialized the beautiful creature “catwoman.” Our eyes locked on one another. It seemed that a contact passed between us, a spark leaped the gap. There seemed to be primeval natural magic in this enchanted beautiful catwoman creature. I noticed her almond-shaped blue colored eyes shined brightly with knowledge and ancient intelligence. She looks like she might be drowsy and then she rubbed her eyes and sighed. She stretched extending her arms above her head and gave out a big yaw and slowly extends hands and fingers. I could see her powerful musculature body surge as she stretched. While yawing she ran her tongue over the roof of her mouth. The catwoman touched her teeth with her pink tongue and I was amazed to catch sight of that on each side of her mouth towards the front were two pointed well-developed sharp-powerful incisors. Her woman’s soft lipped mouth was developed into a catlike-tiger mouth. After stretching as all cats do; she rubbed her face affectionately against the window outside while kissing along as well as purring with pleasure and leaving her scent on the window. Then she was gone! My first day was over. Hungry and tired I laid down the hard concrete floor and quickly fell asleep with one question on my mind who was that catwoman?
To be continued.
To be continued.

Please God let this be a dream
This place was not a place I wanted to be and again I prayed “Please God let this be a dream.” And once yet again I was answered by silence. As I finally realized I was not in a dream but on the contrary somehow or someway I crossed from my world to another universe – an alternate universe. It had to be the answer I admitted to myself! While the new day approached I glanced out a thick glass porthole to the outside. The scene outside appeared as normal as everyday back home yet it was in some ways it wasn’t. There was something different I couldn’t put my finger on. The morning light came through the was thick glass wall portholes and within a few minutes my eyes adjusted to the day light I then began to inspected my surroundings – the place seemed to be some sort ancient military bunker that had built by humans. (To my untrained eye it looked like it had been.) I blinked my eyes and collected my thoughts with a shrug I looked out the nearest porthole window and saw what appeared to be woman but something was wrong in the way she walked. As I studied and watched she wasn’t totally human, scratched my head and I wondered if mankind had genetically re-engineered a virus and it had spread worldwide and had infected the human race. (See the picture on this post.) And perhaps the experiment had terrible gone wrong. My first thought was separate from the feelings in my chest and stomach; it was the observation of her anomalies – she like a beautiful creature. Shock comes with my recognition that this woman with a human face yet different and the way she carried herself she had a mind behind it. With her churning movements, the articulations of her graceful walk she turns and stares at my porthole and me. Aware she being watched she then rose from her walk with her rippling attractively cat like patterned skin and scampered in giant leaps to the nearby forest. Was I scared you might ask. Yes, I was darn right frightened and terrified out of my wits. All I wanted to do was be back in my comfortable bed. But that was not to be!
Where am I?
Hello folks,
I'm back and full of energy and my creative juices are flowing. I have been far-far away in an alternate time and unworldly earth. A few months ago I awoke after a good night's sleep in far different place then my home or comfort of my bed. At first I thought I was having a bad dream but it wasn't a dream - not at all. The floor was cold and hard, I was in some kind of underground bunker - that was as silient as a tomb. The coldness caught my breathe - the air was cold as a north wind, the place I was in place pitch black in darkness and reeked of mildew. "Where am I?" asked God and I was met by silient.
